If the frame stays black, reload once - a slow connection is the usual cause. The game itself is served by its publisher.

About Cold Iron: Last Extraction

Cold Iron is a third-person tactical shooter on a rain-soaked city street at night. Pick two guns and a special ability, then hold the plaza against waves of armed and armoured soldiers until the extraction helicopter arrives. Lock on to targets, land headshots, take cover and use slow motion, rage or regeneration when the fight turns. Game modes: - Survival: hold the plaza until the helicopter comes. Easy, Normal and Hard.

Like everything on this shelf, Cold Iron: Last Extraction is an embedded game and nothing more - no email gate, no account, no upsell between you and the first round.

If you came here from a coverage guide, go back to it after a round or two. This is the quick-play shelf we keep beside the non-owner guides, not a replacement for it.

How to Play

  1. Press play on the frame above. Cold Iron: Last Extraction starts in the same tab; no window pops up and nothing downloads.
  2. Controls, as published with the game: WASD - move mouse - look left mouse.
  3. Do not chase a score on the first try. The second attempt is the serious one.
  4. Close the tab when you are done. There is no save file to manage and no account to log out of.

Before You Press Play

If the frame stutters, the connection is the problem, not the game. Reload once before giving up on it.
Nobody is watching the score. Play badly and enjoy it.
Two rounds, then back to the policy. The whole point of a short game is that it stays short.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cold Iron: Last Extraction

Why won't Cold Iron: Last Extraction load? I just see a blank area.

A blank rectangle almost always means the browser needs a refresh or an update. Close your other tabs, reload the page with a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R), and make sure hardware acceleration is switched on in your browser settings, since many games rely on WebGL. Testing in a second browser tells you quickly whether the issue is the game or your setup.

Are there ads in Cold Iron: Last Extraction, and can I block them?

Ads keep the game free, and they are placed around the game rather than inside it. An aggressive blocker sometimes breaks game scripts as a side effect, so if the game stops loading, add an exception for this site and reload.

How do I play Cold Iron: Last Extraction in fullscreen?

Look for the fullscreen icon in the game's own toolbar, or press the fullscreen key your browser offers (often F11). Maximising the window and setting browser zoom to 100 percent also gives you the largest, correctly scaled view.

Does Cold Iron: Last Extraction work with a gamepad or controller?

Support depends on the individual title. Most browser games of this type are designed around keyboard, mouse or touch input, so a controller is not required. If the game detects gamepads, the controls screen will say so; otherwise stick to the listed keys.

Can I play Cold Iron: Last Extraction on a school or work Chromebook?

Usually yes. Chromebooks run everything through the browser, which is exactly what an HTML5 game like Cold Iron: Last Extraction needs. Lighter 2D titles run especially well on modest hardware, and nothing has to be installed, which suits managed devices.

My device gets warm and the battery drains while playing Cold Iron: Last Extraction. Is that normal?

Active gameplay makes the processor work harder, so some warmth and battery use are normal for graphically busy games. If the device feels uncomfortably hot, pause and let it cool for a few minutes, and close background apps so the game is not competing for resources.

Why did my progress in Cold Iron: Last Extraction disappear?

Local scores are stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browsing data, playing in a private or incognito window, or using guest mode all wipe that storage. Play in a normal window and avoid the clear-cache button if a high score matters to you.

The controls in Cold Iron: Last Extraction do not respond when I press keys.

Browsers only send keyboard input to the part of the page you last clicked on. Click once inside the game area and then try the keys again. On mobile, make sure no overlay is covering the screen and that gesture navigation is not swallowing your taps.

How much mobile data does Cold Iron: Last Extraction use?

Very little. A browser game like Cold Iron: Last Extraction typically transfers a few megabytes when it loads and almost nothing while you play. That is far lighter than streaming video, so it is fine even on a limited data plan.

Can I play Cold Iron: Last Extraction on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Cold Iron: Last Extraction is built for mobile browsers as well as desktop, and touch controls are detected automatically. Racing and arcade titles usually feel best in landscape orientation, while slower games work fine held upright. Close background apps first on older phones so the game gets enough memory.

Do I need to download or install anything to play Cold Iron: Last Extraction?

No. Cold Iron: Last Extraction is an HTML5 game that runs entirely inside the web page, so opening this page is the whole installation. If any site asks you to install a downloader, extension or .exe file before playing, close that page - a real browser game never needs one.
